Explain what you do here at GDS.
I work on the mechanical and plumbing aspects of projects. Since I’m a relatively new engineer, I support others on mechanical design and get support in the process. I’ve learned how to do load calculations, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling, AutoCAD and Revit design, etc.
Why do you enjoy working the engineering/design/construction field?
I enjoy getting to learn while working, and knowing that my work is impacting the world in a positive way.
What drew you to Gibbens Drake Scott, Inc.?
Tim Scott invited me to come work with the company after we happened to meet at a wedding. After a few months of working at the office, I appreciated how kind everyone is, and how many different things I’ve been able to learn and work on.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a paleontologist when I was younger.
What inspires you?
My older sister inspires me. She is one of the smartest and most hard-working people I know, while still being caring and kind.
Could you tell us about your background?
I joined Gibbens Drake Scott, Inc., as an intern last year and then came on full-time following my graduation from the University of Pennsylvania.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I like to make art (painting, color pencil, markers, charcoal, digital etc.). I also like taking a ton of pictures of my cats which takes up 50% of my phone storage.
What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Creative, nice & hardworking.
