SMSD Engineering Design & Development Trade Show
Hello! This is Todd Atkins, taking over the news feed today.
Before the holidays, I had an opportunity to volunteer with the Shawnee Mission School District Engineering program judging for the Engineering Design & Development Trade Show.
They utilized a “Shark Tank” style judging where Judges directed play money toward the design they would invest in.Parents attended the event as well. So, with me sporting my K-State polo and a clip board, I was “obviously” an engineering judge…
While there, had the opportunity to speak with one of the administrators in charge of all of the special curriculums to see what opportunities SMSD has for the building trades programs. The Shawnee Mission School District has done well with the creation of the CAA (Center for Academic Achievement) Center. It is a beautiful building with great programs for our high school youth.
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of encouraging our future engineers and seeing where their innovative minds are heading.
